E. Lincs MAG’s Dave’s Inaugural 87th (if only
I had a calendar party)
Christmas Party We
cancelled our original party because it clashed with
Dave’s 40th. “We can have a party anytime”
said I, “but Dave will only be forty once in this
incarnation. Dave was rather disappointed at this and
promptly decided to arrange another party at our new
meeting place (Spiders Web, Grimsby). It seemed only
fair that it should be Dave’s party as well, so
to break the ice, everyone was Dave.
Upon arrival everyone got a sticker (nice one Leah for
writing them out) with ‘Hello I am Dave’
it. The real Dave’s received a large sticker with
various statements from ‘I really am Dave’
to ‘I am actually Dave’. Later I spotted
one with ‘I am Dave and so is my wife’ on
it. Mind you the band were a tad confused so to speak
when they arrived and made the mistake of asking which
one was Dave.
Quite a prolific chap is Dave, he got engaged the other
week, met a new girlfriend, bought a new bike, lost
his hamster, got sacked, laid off and then procured
a new job. He had to get a lift to the party, came on
his own, came along with Dave, stopped smoking, started
again and to top it all off he won everything in the
raffle. Not only that but Dave travelled from near and
far. There were Dave’s from the garden town of
Scunthorpe, Dave (without the big head) from Slough,
Dave came from Mablethorpe (with Dave). It was also
lovely to see Dave, Dave some other blokes called Dave
from Boston. Not to mention Dave along with her mate
Dave from Jackson Bridge (JB). Dave (from JB) very kindly
agreed to Draw the raffle.
Thanks to Dave behind the bar and Dave helping her for
a great night. Big thanks to Dave for turning up and
sorry you couldn’t make it Dave.
Goodnight
