North
East Lincs MAG 1st Eater Egg Run |
During
the month March myself being Entertainment and Social Officer
for North East Lincs MAG and a few others decided to do an Easter
egg run, the date was set for the 12th of April and the chosen
destination would be St Andrews Hospice (children’s unit)
in Grimsby.
We chose the meeting point as the Kingsway Kiosk in Cleethorpes
at 10 am, we had an e-mail from Simon Welch on behalf of Lindsey
School and Community Arts College a couple of weeks before the
run to say that he, teachers and pupils would like to do a collection
of there own and bring the eggs along on the day to which we gladly
agreed, the Grimsby evening telegraph were also contacted and
they came to one of our meeting to see the eggs being presented
to us from Simon and the pupils where photos and interviews where
done.
And so the day came for the run and at least 37 bikes, 50 or so
people and rocket the dog arrived at the kiosk. People came from
around Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Louth, Immingham and Doncaster way.
Anyway we set of at 11am riding through Cleethorpes and Grimsby
to St Andrews Hospice where a donation of Easter eggs and £50
cash was given but we still had a load of eggs left so it was
off to Diana Princess of Wales hospital in Grimsby to the children’s
ward where the rest of the eggs where hand over to staff.
North East Lincs MAG would like to thanks everybody who made the
the event a success, and for the kind donations of eggs and money,
a special thanks to Andy and the staff of the Kingsway Kiosk,
Debbie Broadway for transporting all the eggs and Ron, Rocket,
Ejnar and Trish for being our outriders
Cheers
Big Dave
