After
the arrival of our daughter Emily we had to come up
with a plan to keep on biking, neither wanted to stay
at home while the other went out so it had to be all
three of us. Trikes and sidecars were considerd but
first and foremost it had to be safe. I wanted to
buy an outfit complete with bike, you cant have enough
bikes after all, but money dictated that we would
have to buy a sidecar and connect it to my bandit
After
looking on ebay we saw not one but two squire qm1
sidecars, the thing with them is their hardtop sidecars
where most seem to be soft top, thinking about the
safety side of things, stones been thrown up etc,
we decieded that a qm1 was the sidecar for us One
of them had a 'buy it now' option, so after much ear
ache from Ruth that was what we did .... and so our
adventure began .... it ticked all the boxes safety
wise, hardtop, perimeter frame and some extras, car
type vents, sunroof and towbar hitch. It had been
connected to a goldwing so the first job was to phone
squires and get the proper mounting brackets for the
bandit
The
sidecar was located in Hemel Hemstead and Squires
were located ???? well it didnt really matter I had
a post code and a sat nav i'd borrowed, so we would
pick up the mounting brackets from squires then drive
our rented Luton van with eleccy tail lift, didnt
want to drop the damed thing after we'd paid for it,
to Hemel Hempstead to pick up the sidecar then home
for tea. All went well except it was more supper than
tea by the time we arrived home.
A couple of mentions: firstly Chris from Squires,
the info and time he gave us was brilliant, if you
need to know anything sidecar he's your man .... next
is Terry who we bought the sidecar off, Terry his
wife and Junior made us welcome and helped us secure
the sidecar in the van.
