We make no appology for the drunken antics that you are about to witness !!!

It was a bright and warm Sunday morning on the 2nd of August 2009, the meeting place was Morrison’s supermarket at Laceby, the time 7am. The turnout was a success myself, Julian, Rob, Julie, Andy, Alf, Martin, Wally and Noel.

We set off at 7 30 to meet Smiler, Paul and Ian at Stibbington services at 9am, unbeknown to us we past them at Newark services. Smiler saw us pass and there's Dave and the gang so they got aboard there bikes and came after us, Smiler only being on Ruths restricted GS500 they did a good job to catch us, Anyway we met them on time after a bacon sarnie or two and a few brews we set of again as far as the next garage for fuel (for those with tanks smaller than a skinny birds bladder).

We reached London in good time and after a couple of wrong turns we made to the Ace at just after 11 am minus Julian who we lost some where in London, after we had been there 45 minutes Julian finally turned up after a short sight seeing trip he had actually gone to Wembley stadium ( I bet he went to buck palace for a brew).

There was good array of vintage jap bikes, Z1000’s, Z900’s, KH triple’s, CBX’s, Xs’s, GT’s, Kettle’ etc etc, we had a good look round including trying the food and few teas and coffees, anyway we decided to set of at 2pm for the ride home, we left Rob and Julie in London as they where staying down there, first port of call was another fuel stop then on back to Stibbington for a few to have some grub and drinks then on to another fuel stop, we then decided to stop at Newark services for a drink and to say farewells to Smiler, paul and Ian, we hit the road back to Grimsby I eventually got back home at 7 15pm all in all it was a good day out, the weather was brilliant, here’s looking forward to the next time we go.

Big Dave
